In this high market competition, AI occupies many areas. My mentors told me that in recent years AI will change the scenario drastically. I admit it. I was frightened. In this crisis market, “How Can I compete with AI?”
We are covered with AI where It is AI chatbots, AI voice assistants and so on. Another factor that frightened me was my background, I came from a general background with no technical skills. I wonder if I would be left behind in this competition. One of my mentors told me the only key factor of survival is 'change' and utilisation of resources around you.
Why not utilise AI for my growth and study?!
I started my journey with our 'Enemy' AI, and you know it was my best decision to build a connection with AI and treat AI as a mentor, as a guide. The most powerful aspect of AI is its ability to adapt the learning process based on the individual. I started my learning through the AI-based learning platform Duolingo to enhance my language knowledge and learn new things. ultimate I came to know that words are louder than actions. When you speak the words you used, it cannot be erasable. So, you need to adapt the language first. Another tool that helped me to learn new things is Khan Academy. These few tools help me in my journey as they can identify my strengths, weaknesses and the improvement scope. I used to get help from Google Chatbot for my English fluency. On the other hand, the chat GPT also helped me to guide my educational aspect in my journey.
For an individual like me without any technical background. These AI tools guide information to learn new skills. Let me mention a few examples, if you want to start with basic coding, several platforms can help you to learn whatever you need like Code Academy or Data Camp use AI to personalize lessons based on your learning speed. This also helps you to feel less intimidated as you gain foundational skills in tech.
We all know the AI-driven platforms like LinkedIn, Coursera, audacity and so on that offer a variety of academic sources like Dara analytics, project management, content writing and many more. These platforms help us to structure the learning pathway based on individuals.
The process of enrolment helps me to specialization in different subjects that are trendy in the market. Currently, I am learning digital marketing with the help of chat GPT. I asked several questions like what is the future of DM? If I want to get a job in DM, what will be my syllabus? How I can learn it from basic and so on. This structure provides me with a pathway for my career. If I take online courses, it will cost huge. I can specialize in the topic with minimum resources at a reasonable price. The magical thing is, that Chat GPT helps me in the competitor analysis process, and the fundamentals of SEO, it helps me to learn about internal links external links and so on.
In summary, I use AI to learn new things, and it helps me to combat market competition. The funny thing is, in my interview, my interviewee was shocked to know that I learned the entire subject with the help of AI.
What is your interpretation of my story?
If you are concerned with job replacement by AI, then It is a concerning issue. AI reduces manual efforts which affects employment. One AI tool can do multiple jobs which restricts the recruitment process as the demand is fulfilled. One thing I have observed, you have to grow, you have to update. you know the Charles Darwin's theory! 'Survival of the fittest' you don't have to compete with technology, you have to upskill yourself to do responsibly that technology can easily do. For anyone who feels intimidated by the AI, remember that it’s a tool that can empower us, even if we’re from non-technical backgrounds. Instead of fearing AI, I now see it as an assistant—helping me study, organize, and take charge of my career path. By embracing AI, I’m not just surviving but also slowly growing into a more confident, adaptable version of myself.
I think the last question has already been answered. It’s all about survival. Several skills like leadership, creativity, empathy, and adaptability are uniquely human. The only thing AI can do is assist with certain processes. AI is still unable to replicate emotional intelligence (EQ) or build genuine human connections. So, focus on enhancing these interpersonal skills to bring value where AI falls short.
We don’t need to compete with AI, instead, we need to learn to collaborate with it and build friendships with AI. Involving AI that can excel in tasks, processing massive amounts of data, performing repetitive calculations, or automating predictable tasks, but it still lacks human qualities like creativity, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving that require context and empathy.
